45 Avenue

45 Avenue, running West-East through Millet, is marked by several notable garden beds and floral displays.

In front of the Millet Agriplex is the Millet Agriplex planter, filled with miniature petunias in a variety of colours.

On the south side of 45 Avenue is a row of garden beds, each with their own beautiful flowers, trees, and heritage features, including junipers, roses, and magenta peonies. One of the most striking is the Canada 150 Heritage Bed, in which colourful flowers grow inside a large, beautiful white maple leaf surrounded by ‘Mertyann’ spirea. Following the storm of July 16th, 2020, several of these beds were buried in fallen trembling aspens. Fortunately, quick cleanup efforts by Millet in Bloom, Town of Millet staff, Millet citizens, and crews from nearby communities, meant that the fallen trees were cleared in under a week. Most of the 45 Avenue beds were unharmed.

Further east, closer to Highway 2A, are two circular cement planters with cascades of pink petunias.
