Seating Installation

As part of Alberta’s Healthy Communities Initiative for 2019-2022, Millet in Bloom and the Town of Millet, working alongside the Healthy Communities Initiatives Committee, are working on the design and installation of an outdoor seating space known as a ‘Distancing Diamond’. The first of its kind in Canada, the project involves the creation of a diamond-shaped, paved area with seating at each corner. Such a space allows community members, families, and friends to visit and chat while following Social Distancing guidelines. Being able to connect with others is important for mental health, and the Distancing Diamond is going to be a helpful tool for this sort of connection both now and after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
